Annabel’s & Mark’s London Club with MHZ

Annabel’s and Mark’s are two of a collection of five private clubs of the Birley Clubs group, each of them utterly unique. Annabel’s, a glamorous members-only nightclub founded in 1963, welcomed an exclusive clientele ranging from the Prince of Wales to Frank Sinatra, and is thought to be the only nightclub attended by the Queen. Entertainers who have played there include Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald and Tina Turner. This project consisted in updating the club, as well as creating a new Snug/Martini Bar with specialist painted walls depicting cheeky London landscapes. A successor day and night club has since opened next-door. Mark’s Club, a traditional private members club opened 1973, offers a retreat from the city for ladies and gentlemen as an alternative to other then London gentlemen’s only clubs. The project consisted in the redesign of the spaces, with elegant dining rooms, bars, cigar rooms, and outdoor terraces.
